Doug Badger was a Partner of The Nickles Group, LLC, providing clients expertise on a range of issues from health care and energy to taxes, financial services, telecommunications, and trade. Working with a variety of industry leaders, he combines substantive legislative experience with realistic strategic advice resulting in tailored solutions.
Prior to joining The Nickles Group, Doug served as the Deputy Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs where he helped formulate the Bush Administration’s policy and legislative strategy. While at the White House, he was also the President’s lead health policy advisor working closely on the Medicare Modernization Act as well as Medicare’s drug coverage, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues, and the creation of health savings accounts.
Doug has worked as a partner at Washington Counsel Ernst & Young specializing in health care, intellectual property, and employee benefits. He also served for a decade as a U.S. Senate aide, including stints as Chief of Staff to Assistant Majority Leader Don Nickles and Staff Director of the Senate Republican Policy Committee. He has held senior positions at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Social Security Administration.
Doug holds a master’s degree from Westminster Theological Seminary and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware.
